Product Spotlight - Package Infeed Choices

Almost as important as determining accurate weights with your Alpha Checkweigher is the orderly, regulated transport of packages to the checkweigher. Alpha offers a choice of options to deliver packages to the weighing components of the checkweigher. These options are specifically offered and designed to your application and specific operating requirements.

Conveyors

Either belt or chain conveyors can be supplied to deliver packages to the checkweigher. Choice of belt or chains varies according to size, shape, and configuration of the package. Wide, flat belts are well suited for bulky, soft-sided packages. Chain conveyors often offer easier transitions between different equipment and the checkweigher. Both types can feature variable speed motors with speed selection directly from the front panel of the Alpha Checkweigher.

Side-Belt Transfers

Consists of two laterally mounted motorized belts that assist in securing packages from the side for smooth transfer to the checkweigher. Side-Belts are particularly useful when packages must travel over a deadplate to reach the scale conveyor of the checkweigher.

Timing Screws

When container spacing is critical for accurate weighing of individual packages, a specially-profiled Timing Screw can be supplied for precise package movement and positioning. Timing Screws are supplied according to package shape and size. Individual mounting adjustments and variable speed motors provide the versatility of different packages with little changeover.
